On August 14, SparkMind AI wrapped up its fifth and final summer workshop in partnership with NS Society’s Buddy Up Program, marking the end of a meaningful summer of learning, creativity, and connection.
Throughout the five-workshop series, SparkMind AI volunteers explored different ways to make learning more engaging and accessible for children with special needs. From AI-inspired games and digital activities to art, puzzles, LEGO, hands-on projects, and outdoor play, each session created opportunities for children to learn through curiosity, interaction, and fun.

Our final workshop was made even more meaningful by the participation of two educators from York University, who joined the activities and engaged with the children and volunteers throughout the session.

For SparkMind AI, this summer series was about more than introducing technology. It was an opportunity to explore how AI, creativity, and human connection can come together to support more inclusive learning experiences.
Five workshops may have brought our summer program to a close, but the experience has given us new ideas for what inclusive, technology-supported learning can become. We look forward to continuing this journey with NorthStar and the Buddy Up community.
