On July 24, 2026, SparkMind AI Education participated in the Buddy Up program organized by NorthStar Special Needs Society.
Buddy Up was designed to provide children with special needs with an inclusive and engaging environment through a variety of activities, including LEGO, chess, Go, interactive games, and technology-based learning.
As part of SparkMind’s mission to make AI education accessible, engaging, and meaningful for young learners including those with special needs, Mia Cao led the AI education component of the program.
During the two-hour session, she worked closely with two participants, introducing them to basic ideas such as what artificial intelligence is, how it is used in everyday life, and what kinds of experiences it can help create. Through simple explanations, demonstrations, and AI-assisted games, the participants were able to explore AI in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

The activities were adapted to the participants’ interests and comfort levels, creating a relaxed and supportive learning experience. Beyond introducing basic AI concepts, the session encouraged curiosity, communication, confidence, and hands-on exploration.

SparkMind was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to North Star’s broader Buddy Up program and to support its inclusive community mission through technology education.

What a meaningful job!
